KOCCA (Korea Creative Content Agency) is back for their 7th annual SXSW Music Festival showcase. To celebrate lucky number 7, Korea Spotlight presents another stellar lineup of Korean Showcasing Artists. Past KOCCA showcase alumni include Red Velvet, KARD, LEE HI, Jay Park, f(x), CIFIKA, Crush, Crayon Pop, and more.
This year’s lineup at SXSW includes YG Entertainment’s seven-member boy band iKON making their North American debut, former I.O.I. member turned solo star CHUNG HA, SM Entertainment/ScreaM Records super-producer and spaceman Hitchhiker, avant post-rock group Jambinai, Hip-Hop duo XXX, and experimental beat maker KIRARA.
Korea Spotlight will take place at Austin City Limits Live at the Moody Theater on Wednesday, March 13. SXSW Platinum and Music Badges receive primary access to the event. Interactive Badges, Film Badges, and Music Festival Wristbands receive secondary access. This showcase will be open to all ages.
K-Pop comes into focus at the 2019 SXSW Conference this year as well. SM Entertainment general manager Chris Lee’s Featured Session: True Value of K-Pop will dive into how SM Entertainment is utilizing new techniques and technologies to drive growth in international markets.
