In 2007, Paul Quinn College was a failing HBCU that had few students and seemingly a bleak future. By 2018, bolstered by a commitment to values and the belief in meeting students where they are, PQC has been transformed into one of the most innovative colleges in America.

At SXSW EDU 2018, PQU President, Michael J. Sorrell, took the keynote stage and discussed how focusing on the needs of communities the school serves led to creating a new version of higher ed and the plan to build a network of Urban Work Colleges using Reality Based Education.
