Eleanor Ambos Interiors | Film 2014 | SXSW

February 5, 2014

We follow Eleanor, an 86 year old interior designer through her daily life. She grew up in Nazi Germany and at age 20 moved to America where she did not identify with the role women played in American society. At 30 she started an interior design business and eventually purchased an old factory building to house all her furniture. Eleanor began to decorate the building and it was soon after discovered to be a photographer's paradise. We witness her become confused by the physical limitations imposed by macular degeneration. We discuss the history of her strange career and catch moments of vulnerability and ultimately arrive at a new philosophy of what in life is worth seeing. Directed by: Andrew Ellis
