Best known for her role as Maeby Fünke in the cult television series Arrested Development, Alia Shawkat continues to establish herself as a highly sought after actress in both film and TV. 2016 proved to be a big year for the actress, with leading roles in the indie thriller Green Room, Amber Tamblyn’s directorial debut Paint It Black, and Clea DuVall’s The Intervention. She also starred in Netflix’s Pee-Wee’s Big Holiday and can currently be seen in TBS’ new dark comedy Search Party, both which premiered at the 2016 SXSW Film Festival.
Fun Fact: Search Party was created by Sarah-Violet Bliss and Charles Rogers, whose SXSW 2014 feature film Fort Tilden won the Grand Jury Award, and by alum Michael Showalter (Hello, My Name is Doris). Robbie Pickering, director of 2011 Grand Jury and Audience Award winner Natural Selection also serves as a staff writer for the series.
